Climbing and Traverse Climbing and traverse walls are very popular and widely used in playgrounds throughout the world, we have a wide range, including thermo-formed walls to choose from. Climbing walls can be quite challenging for children and ours are typically no taller than 2.4m, but climbing walls require safer surfacing to be installed under or around them. Traverse walls differ from climbing walls in that they are designed to allow children to traverse along the wall only. When installed into a soft grass site, safer surfacing is not normally required as the fall height would be less than 600mm.
